Future Plans
There are three main areas of focus for future development
School
The first two classrooms of the school building, which is adjacent to the site of the Home, are now open, with the children resident at the Home now attending classes there. Further classrooms are to be built, and more equipment to fully furnish and equip the school is required. The aim is to open the school too children of the wider Bamburi community.
Clinic
The Clinic facilities within the Home are vital to maintaining the health the of the children who are infected with HIV and are on the necessary drug regimes and require constant monitoring by health professionals. We would like to expand the services offered to include testing of the CD4 counts and make the clinic facilities available to the wider community.
Second Storey
Plans have been drawn up for a second storey for the Home this would extend the dormitory accommodation and would allow for approximately 120 children to cared for on the site.
